Q: Can I place this projector 17 feet from the screen? Will the image size be too big? Asked on 4/14/2013 by JB from IL Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: Dear JB, Thank you for contacting Visual Apex regarding the BenQ W1070 projector. At a 17' throw distance you would be able to project an image as large between 120" & 135" diagonal. Most projector companies recommend that when watching 3D content 120" diagonal would be about as large as you would want to go. Also when projecting from a long distance on a large sceen the image quality can dissipate. If it is at all possible to mount it closer that would be great. It is my pleasure to assist you today. The BenQ W1070 is a great little home theater projector. It has been reviewed as great for use in multi-purpose, family & living rooms where light control can be an issue. Being unable to see dark scenes is caused by not having enough brightness and contrast or by having competing light interfering with the projector. If your room does not have a window on the opposite side of the room that throws light towards the screen or a window where the light passes between the screen and projector you should be able to see the dark scenes without a problem. If you have the issues described the problem can be easily remedied by blinds or curtains on the window. I hope I have answered your question satisfactorily. Home Theater Projectors: Projectors returned within 30 days of receipt and less than 5 hours of use will NOT incur a restocking fee. Projectors returned within 30 days of receipt and less than 20 hours of use will be refunded less a 15% restocking fee. Projectors past 30 days of receipt or with 20+ hours of use are non-returnable.
