I quickly received my projector from visualapex and I was so excited when I opened the box and saw the EPSON 5010e in front of me. This is my first projector and I have been researching different projectors for over a year and by far Epson won!!! This projector out of the box was very easy to setup. I just install my ceiling mount bracket and plugged in my HDMI cables to cablebox and receiver then the most amazing, sharp, clear, bright picture I ever seen appeared on my wall. That is right my wall, I did not even put up my 106" screen yet and the picture blew me away. While watching the MARCH MADNESS NCAA Basketball game using the wireless HD there was no lag and amazing picture clarity even with the motion of the fast-breaks plays running down the court. I also tried the 3D feature of this projector and all I can say is I never have to go to movie theatre again to watch a 3D movie. OMG - I watch the movie GREEN HORNET and colors were breath-taking clear- the images leaped off my wall and into my lap and I was about 16ft away from screen/wall. I turn on my 7.1 surround sound and I was in paradise. My final recommendation is the projector is ABOVE EXCELLENT- it is AMAZING with lights on or off in the room, the picture quality and color are AMAZING and vibrant, setup is super easy and as my first projector I am extremely satisified with my experience with visualapex customer service especially since this was a purchase that took me two years to save up for. I highly recommend this product

I had concerns that about the Wireless HD working and thought there would be some lag but was truly amazed that it worked flawlessly. At 20 feet from the wall I can't detect any movie or video game lag at all. Super easy to set up. Was up and running within 20 minutes out of the box.

Overall I am very happy, I upgraded from a panny ae 900u so this was a big move up, and I thought the panny was great. The color and light output is awesome, the 3-d is great. Only cons are it takes a few minutes to start and sometimes doesn't start at all, you have to unplug it and restart it, but once it is going it is great. The 3d glasses are a little pricey.

After 4-5 years with an Infocus Screenplay 5700 DLP projector, it finally started showing mainboard problems. Time for a replacement. We considered similarly priced Benq, JVC and Panasonic. We have our projector ceiling-mounted, about 19 feet from a 120" diagonal screen, in a living room with 12 feet of window wall. I had to make a mount adapter plate from some 1/4" thick aluminum and that only took about 45 min. Our old projector required low room light and drapes drawn for best picture. The Epson 5010e is so bright and with such high contrast and black levels, that for some content we can have drapes open in daytime or lights on at night and the screen looks like an enormous LCD display. I used "Live Free or Die Hard" for all its high speed action, close-up face shots, ready-reference colors (blue sky, yellow taxis, U.S. flag, trees, police car and traffic lights, etc) to set up the brightness, color, sharpness, frame interpolation settings, etc. I never dreamed that wireless HDMI would work so well. We have another input using an HDMI-to-vga converter (already had the cable in place) and for whatever reason, the 5010e makes that signal look way better than it did with the old projector. Better video processor? upscaling? Who cares - it's great. And all this is with ECO mode, with brightness dialed DOWN. Since the projector hangs right over our couch, the quietness of the fan (compared to our old projector) is a Godsend. The other reason we went with this projector is because of the claimed lamp life and replacement cost. I hope lamp life is as good as claimed. I don't think you'll be disappointed if you buy this projector for home theater.
