Light Harmonizer
With outstanding 2,000-lumen brightness -- brightest in its class -- and Panasonic's intelligent Light Harmonizer, images are crisp, bright and easy to see, even in a well-lit room. With the PT-AX100U, images are crisp, vivid and easy to see even in the kind of bright lighting that makes images from other projectors look whitish, faded or lacking in detail. A built-in Ambient Light Sensor (ALS) measures the room brightness, and the Light Harmonizer circuit adjusts the gamma curve according to both the measured brightness and the input signal. This maintains easy, comfortable viewing in all lighting conditions.
Pure Color Filter Produces Deep, Rich Blacks and Bright, Vivid Colors
The new Pure Color Filter was born from Panasonic's tireless pursuit of optical technology that delivers true Hollywood-picture quality. In developing the Pure Color Filter, Panasonic carefully determined the type of materials, number of filter layers, and filter characteristics that would attain optimal "Hollywood tuning" (i.e., image characteristics best suited for movie viewing). The lamp is adjusted to produce a level of light that maximizes the performance of the LCD panels, which expands the color range and produces truer blacks. You will see the improvement in movies especially deeper, richer blacks, more vibrant color, and a more dynamic overall viewing experience.
Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory (PHL) - Where Hollywood Picture Quality Begins
For the past decade, PHL has conducted research into digital cinema, DVD video compression, and digital conversion of film stock. Now it is working to create standards for next-generation optical media using Blu-ray Disc and projection technology based on HD image compression. PHL's close relations with leading Hollywood studio technicians, directors, cinematographers and colorists played a key role in our developing the PT-AX100U.
Panasonic worked with leading Hollywood colorist, David Bernstein, to achieve one of the most accurate image reproductions possible. This led to our developing new integrated circuitry and core image optimizers that allow the PT-AX100U to deliver true "Hollywood picture quality" images that faithfully express the director's artistic intent. David Bernstein is a top Hollywood colorist whose expertise is evident in the telecine* process for numerous successful films.
*Telecine process: How film is transferred to video.
Dynamic Iris and Dynamic Gamma
The Dynamic Iris helps provide the deeper, richer blacks needed for true image reproduction. This technology adjusts the lamp power, iris and gamma curve according to data obtained from frame-by-frame histogram analysis of the image brightness level. The adjustments are made 60 times per second. The wide iris range, combined with histogram analysis that detects as many as 3,000,000,000 brightness and darkness levels, provides brighter bright scenes and deeper, richer blacks. The Dynamic Gamma boosts the brightness level of image details that would otherwise be lost in dark areas. You see the kind of true, deep blacks you've seen before only at the cinema.
Smooth Screen Technology
Smooth Screen technology effectively reduces the "chicken wire effect" - the black lines between pixels that mar picture quality. The high definition picture of the PT-AX100U is remarkably smooth and film-like, while remaining amazingly sharp and detailed.
Dynamic Sharpness Control
Conventional projectors emphasize sharpness without regard for brightness differences. This can cause a halo or ring effect around object edges, reducing their three-dimensionality. Dynamic Sharpness Control sharpens only the pixels in the image areas where there is a small change in brightness level. This greatly reduces noise amplification and delivers clear, natural-looking images.
User Equalizing Function
The PT-AX100U lets you decide how images look on your screen. In each of seven preset picture modes, you can adjust the high, mid and low gamma levels. That's a total of 34,391 possible setting combinations. Also, the control screens are more legible and easier to use than in previous models. This makes customizing the picture easier and gives you better results. Up to three sets of adjustment settings can be stored in memory.

It's October again. And regular as clockwork, the Harvest moon rises, the fall colors turn, the Yankees lose in the playoffs, and the home theater industry sees an all-new clash of the LCD titans, Panasonic and Sanyo.

Visual apex had the best price and free shipping for the panasonic projector pt-ax100u. I figured it would take the full 5-7 days to get delivered. To my surprise it only took 2 days and caused me to scramble a bit to purchase hdmi cables etc. so I could set it up. they contacted me through e-mail to see if the projector had arrived in good condition! I have to say that purchasing this projector through visual apex has been a very good experience. just a side note hd and blu-ray look soooo very good through this projector. bright and beautiful. exceptional bargain!

My experience with Visual Apex was excellent.
I recently purchased a Panasonic PT-AX100U projector, Graywolf II screen and a couple cables from Visual Apex. I ordered on a Wednesday and received everything in good condition the following Monday -- just as long as it should take via ground delivery and not a day longer. I ordered a Panasonic PT AX-100U projector and some supporting equipment from Visual Apex. They were awesome. I called them on a Saturday, and spoke with a very pleasant and knowlegable representative (no east coast attitude, no hard sell, no overseas "customer service" reading from a script...). Not only did Visual Apex answer all of my questions about my home theater, they actually told me other good companies for components they did not carry. Everything arrived just a few days. They even had a personalized follow-up to make sure everything arrived and worked properly. Visual Apex seems to know what customer service really means. It was a pleasure to do business with them, and I never had that "did I get ripped off?" feeling that I've had working with other internet companies. I highly recommend Visual Apex.

Top notch.
Purchased a Panasonic Plasma screen back in the day and returned to purchase an LCD projector (Panasonic PT-AX100U).
In both cases, not only prices were amongst the lowest I could find on the web but customer service was also top notch.
If packing and shipment at high level should be considered standard for web-stores, they added a follow up e-mail to check that everything was received, functioned well and offered help if needed.
No complaints whatsoever.

Couldn't be happier.
I purchased a Panasonic PT-AX100U from Visual Apex as well as an Elite EZframe 106" and couldn't be happier. I expected to need help with the screen, but with the wife and kids out on the town I tackled it myself. The projector is outstanding. I purchased a Panasonic PT-AX100U from Visual Apex. The ordering process was what I expected, and it arrived quickly and in good working order. The product itself is exactly what is advertised. I have it positioned on a video stand 20 ft from the wall. The zoom feature is terrific, as is the lens adjustment (in case you'r not exactly aligned with the wall). I have not needed to keystone which is a great plus. The unit handles the ambient light pretty well, of course closed curtains help too. I went from a 26 inch screen to > 100 inches overnight. I was a bit surprised/impressed to find an online vendor sending me a mail about a month after the pruchase to see how everything is going. Nice touch. As I build up my home theater I'll certainly visit visual apex again.

Recently purchased a Panasonic PT-AX100U projector, universal mount, and DaLite screen. Product price was very competitive, phone agent was knowledgeable, the products arrived on time and all together and when I needed some installation support, they were TREMENDOUS! I called about the mount, the initial support person was helpful, but asked me to hold while she located one of their tech's who talked me through the problem and resolved my issue immediately. Not only that, they called back to check on my success! I'm impressed!

I purchased a Panasonic - PT-AX100U projector and an Elite 106in. Manual - HC Gray - M106UCH screen from Visual Apex.
I spent a month researching which projector I wanted for my home theater. Using resources on ProjectorCentral and other sites I found the information I needed to chose the right one for my needs.
When I decided on the projector there were many on-line vendors to choose from all with similar deals. I chose Visual Apex because they were rated well and have good deals. I was able to get a good screen to go with the projector for far less than I was expecting to spend.
Shipping was by ground due to the large screen size but the order was sent promptly. I received everything in great shape and have been using my projector and screen for 3 weeks.
I am extremely happy with the PT-AX100U projector and with the order I placed with Visual Apex. I would do business with them again.

Wow!
One of the few 'places' left where one can talk to 'real' people to get ideas and answers to questions before making a substantial home theater purchases. I wasn't sure if my new HD-DVD player would work with a Panasonic 100U projector because of new HDCP security protocols. VisualApex agent double checked compatibility and sure enough ... I now enjoy theater-like cinema at home. I was surprised when a few days later a phone call from VisualApex asked me if all was working OK. Wow!

Glad I purchased from VA!
After reading reviews about the new Panasonic A100U I made the decision to buy from Visual Apex. I'm glad I did. I was leaving for a month long business trip and wanted the projector before I left. I paid extra to have the projector arrive 2 days before I needed to leave. I have a good deal of experience shipping equipment and I noticed a funny message on the shipper's website. I called V.A. and brought it to their attention. Several people in the organization followed up on the situation and ended up shipping the projector via FedEx overnight! Mistakes happen because we are human and the real test of a company is to own up and take care of a situation before it even becomes an issue. I am now going to buy a projector screen. Guess where I am going to look first!

I purchased the new Pany Ax100 from VisualApex. I had decided to purchase from them or another vendor advertised on the avsforum based on feedback I had read about. I placed several calls to them for advice before purchasing. They had better and more friendly 'support' in my opinion than the other vendor (and better hours). They had good followup after the order also. From what I've read on Avsforum, they have a generous replacement policy also (if you recieve a defective product). A+++
