i only have 84" from top of the ceiling to my device rack
excep 18" drop and screen height (exact white screen part) what is its case size and bottom bar height?

  Thank you for contacting Visual Apex with your mounting question on the VAPEX 106" Tensioned Screen. The screen comes with flush mounts. The tensioning bar & screen come about 2" off of the wall. On the top of the screen case there are two hoops one on each end which are designed to hang on bracket or from the ceiling with a chain. You can purchase the wall hanging brackets separately from us if you need more than 2" of space.

So the white area measures 92". What does the overall screen measure at it's smallest tensioned width? I'm trying to cover a wall with cutout opening of 96" wide. Am I correct that the 5" border would add 10" overall to the width of the screen fabric at it's narrowest point?

  Because the tensioned screen side masking has an hourglass shape to it the thickest part of the border is 5 inches toward the top and bottom of the screen. The border at its thinnest in the middle is about 2 inches adding about 4 inches to the total width.

Works great. Installation into a recessed ceiling slot was very easy. Only problem was when it was first un-rolled, small pebbles or dirt fell out. This produced a few 1/8" - 1/4" shallow dimples in the screen. These are only noticeable when the projector is off and the room lights are grazing it (and you know they are there). They are invisible during normal use. The picture is bright and clear with my Epson 8700UB (12' throw) in ECO mode, even with ambient light. My first screen, but I can't imagine spending a lot more money would produce a much better picture in my application.

THIS WAS THE BEST WAY FOR ME TOGO.ICANT HAVE A FIXED SCREEN. WHEN WERE DON VIEWING I TAKE IT UP AND IT REVIELS A WALL I CAN HAVE NOTHING AGAINST.SO ITS PERFECT FOR THIS HUGE TV SCREEN.I HAVENT TRIED THE 12VOLT TRIGER CAUSE I WILL PROBLY LEAVE IT DOWN A COUPLE DAYS AT A TIME OR SO.HAD A SHEET AT FIRST AND THOUGHT IT LOOKED GOOD.THE SCREEN WAS 20 TIMES BETTER.

Great Job! I purchased the epson 8100R projector and Visual Apex 120" motorized screen at the end of May, almopst 3 months ago. I had questions on the screen and they were helpful with the questions and aided in my final decision on the screen. I was impressed with the Customer Service as they followed up while my order was in transit, shortly after it arrived and then again one month later at the end of June to assure everything was as expected. I have had this system for almost three months and am very impressed as we use it for watching movies and PS3 games.
