Along with the latest D7 chip set, the Epson 8700UB-R (Manufacturer Refurbished) projector adds C2Fine and UltraBlack(TM) technology for superb black levels and vivid images. Further boosting black levels, the Home Cinema 8700 UB includes brightness of 1,600 lumens color and light output and new dual-layered auto iris technology, allowing for an impressive contrast ratio of up to 200,000:1. As a result, the projector controls light intensity more effectively, causing dark images to appear even darker and blacks to appear even richer and deeper.
The Epson 8700UB-R (Manufacturer Refurbished) projector also features Epson's new Super-resolution(TM) technology to create a sharper, more detailed picture resolution ideal for broadcast signal noise reduction or enhancing the quality of poor DVD transfers. Super-resolution technology improves the resolution of a blurred image, allowing consumers to fully enjoy high-definition quality at all times. Epson has also added new real color reproduction capabilities, which delivers more natural and precise colors, allowing viewers to experience the true-to-life colors filmmakers intended.
To ensure sharp, clear images, the projector features Epson's 12-bit 3LCD driver technology and a built-in Silicon Optix HQV Reon-VX scaling and de-interlacing video processor. This processor reduces mosquito and block noise and augments multi-level contrast enhancement to further improve picture quality. The Home Cinema 8700 UB also features enhanced FineFrame(TM) technology resulting in smoother frame interpolation, sharper video quality and the elimination of judder.

Thanks Visual Apex!
I have ordered a 8700ub-r projector from them, since they were the only ones carrying it that I could find. The price was also attractive.
I am from Canada and they accepted my Canadian credit card with a Canadian billing address, but their shipping is in the US only. I had to order by phone since their checkout webpage does not allow for a Canadian billing address, but Karl on the phone was helpful and we got the order done without a hitch.
I had some credit card issues (Visa made a mistake when adding a secondary shipping US address to my account) which meant the transaction failed when Visual Apex tried to confirm it. The sales department contacted me and we resolved this problem after two iterations of Visa screwing up. I got to talk to a real human at Visual Apex that could actually pick up a phone and call Visa to confirm my address, which some checkout systems of larger companies do not allow (I'm looking at you newegg.com).
All in all, a good experience.

Extremely pleased to have worked with VA.
I am extremely pleased to have worked with Visual Apex to garner my beautiful Epson 8700. VA gave me an amazing deal (after three months of research) on a package that included a fantastic 120" fixed frame screen, ceiling mount, 30' hdmi cable, and even three Blu-Rays. The whole package was delivered even before I had a chance to properly finish setting up our family room--now the home theater. Here's a friendly tip: if you are interested in having your home theater professionally mounted then consider hiring a local handyman (no more than $225) and stay away from big box companies like Best Buy (<$600!). I love, love my home theater and appreciate companies, like Visual Apex, that are friendly, price-appropriate, and speedy deliverers.
